Summer 2026 Internships

About Legal Voice

Legal Voice pursues justice for all women and 2SLGBTQ+ people in the Northwest, through groundbreaking litigation, legislative advocacy, and legal rights education. As a progressive feminist organization with an intersectional approach to gender justice, Legal Voice practices community lawyering, centering the most-impacted community voices across all levels of our advocacy, and rooting our work in our race equity values. We work in many different areas of the law, including reproductive health, rights, and justice, family law, 2SLGBTQ+ rights, civil rights, gender-based violence, affirmative action, public benefits, rights of incarcerated people, employment, health care, insurance, and education.

Our core values include honoring the lived experiences of our staff, volunteers, and partners; prioritizing time for relational work and community building; and fostering the leadership development of people from diverse backgrounds. We seek students who share those values and our commitment to dismantling systemic oppression. Students of color and students from diverse communities are especially encouraged to apply. We invite applicants with disabilities who may need accommodation in the application process to contact us.

About Our Program

Our Legal Intern/Externship Program gives law students a unique opportunity to work on high-impact litigation and policy development at the leading edge of gender justice. Working closely with staff attorneys, students research legal and legislative issues, work on case development, investigate policy issues, and assist in preparing written know-your-rights materials. Students also have opportunities to grow their understanding of community lawyering, participate in strategy meetings, observe court hearings, and join staff at other meetings and events. We seek to build supportive, lasting relationships with our interns.

Note regarding remote work: Until further notice, internships are 100% remote.
